Jodi Sargent Yoga & Eden Street Flowers

One of the best pieces of advice I received when starting to grow flowers was about success and failure. Not only could I try growing new varieties every year, but with a keen eye and note taking, try to grow it for 2-3 years before giving it up. There are no failures if you continue to learn from the experience.

There is so much beauty and hard work to both growing flowers and the process of practicing yoga – patience, observation, and being willing to ask questions. Both are rewarding in their own ways, and I look forward to sharing these both with you.

I started teaching in 2009, after 12 years of a personal exploration into yoga and meditation. Teaching was a tool to share the gifts of the practice, a way for me to offer back the quiet strength I had gained from it. Some of you were there with me when I started in Southwest Harbor at the Harbor House, or in my first classes taught in Bar Harbor at Cattitude. Each time we came together, in person over the years and online, the personal connections have shaped how meaningful the practice has become, and enriched my life.

Starting April 27, 2022, I will be taking a break from teaching yoga. Who knows if I will return to teaching, but this practice continues to be a part of my everyday. In fact, yoga’s ability to evolve has helped me keep practicing for close to 30 years already. That is so cool! So I look forward to whatever comes next with it.
